ALLSTAR COMPETITIVE TEAMS

This year our competitive teams will be traveling to Star Systems Nationals in Nashville, Tn. July 20-24

Absolute Dance All-Stars

This program is for dancers wanting to progress into competitive dancing.  It's a fun way to expand technical and performance skills while obtaining positive feedback from leaders in the professional dance field.  All Star team members are provided opportunities to travel, perform in the community, and learn team sportsmanship and leadership. The Absolute Dance All Star program is the most rewarding experience for dancers.

Average Age Divisions:

6-8 years "Mini"

9-11 years "Junior"

12-15 years "Teen"

16-18 years "Senior"

2010 Tryouts: Wednesday, August 11th from 5-7pm at Absolute Dance.

COMPETITIVE SEASON

All Star team members commit to a full season from August 2010 to July 2011, which includes all summer classes. Dancers must attend summer technique and team classes in order to compete in nationals.

TECHNIQUE AND ATTENDANCE

Absolute Dance has had huge competitive success since opening in 2006. Many of our All Stars have had less than two years of dance experience, and have already been awarded a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!  The success of our competitive dancers is, in part, due to our advanced ballet and technique program, which is required for each All Star team member. These classes are essential for developing proper technique, flexibility, and choreography retention skills necessary to succeed at the competitive level. All Stars are required to take a two hour ballet/technique class each week in addition to their team choreography class(es).  Dancers must not miss more than three team classes per year (per team).  Any missed technique classes must be made up in another level before any upcoming competitions.

COMPETITIONS

Each All Star team will attend as many as four competitions throughout the year. Regional competitions will be near, if not in the city of Louisville. The national competition, most likely will be held out of town. Information about each competition will be given ahead of time so families can plan trips and vacations around them.  Dancers are expected to attend all competitions and All Star events.
