Kempo is an ancient martial art meaning "fist
law," and this traditional art is taught as Kiyojute Ryu Kempo. Kiyojute Ryu is a complete
self-defense system that includes body throws,
chokes, counter-joint locking techniques, and Okinawain style karate. Weapons are also
included
in the curriculum, as students are taught every
aspect of the ancient oriental combat arts.
This form of Kempo is not a sport. We do not
participate in tournaments, and we do not spar
each other in class. Classes are conducted
in a relaxed and family atmosphere, as they have been
in true martial arts schools for the last 1500
years. Competition is not allowed-
students train
as partners with the shared goal of
physical, mental, and spiritual mastery.
Kempo will give you strength, flexibility, and
most importantly, ability to defend yourself
effectively. Classes are open to everyone. Fees
are only $40.00 a month, and the first two weeks
